In 1921, Ourisman Auto Group began as a single Chevrolet dealership
in Washington, D.C. More than a century later, Ourisman is a fourth
generation, family-owned group with 16 dealerships representing 14
brands across Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and North Carolina.
Automotive News ranks us the 17th largest dealer group in the nation,
and we're one of the largest privately owned automotive groups in the
country. We're proud of where we started, but our focus is on the
experience you have with us today and the future we're building for
you.
Since Robert Ourisman Jr. took the lead in 2020, Ourisman Cars has more than doubled in size. Every step forward has had the same goal: doing more for the people who count on us. That means more choices for our customers, more opportunities for our team, and more families driving home happy. Today we put more than twice as many customers behind the wheel as we did five years ago.
To support that growth, we established the Ourisman Cars Management Company in 2026 to oversee daily operations across every dealership. It gives each store the same strong foundation, so you can expect the same level of care at every Ourisman location.

Our people are the heart of Ourisman, and we make a point of celebrating them. Every year, more than 1,000 employees come together for our Christmas party, a night of fun filled with giveaways and prizes. Throughout the year, our stores also host family days, when teams get together with their loved ones to celebrate the families who support them.
Modern Luxury DC readers voted Ourisman Best Dealership Staff in 2026 and Best Family Dealership Group in 2025.
Our stores have also been honored by the brands we represent, with multiple Toyota President's Awards, a Honda President's Award, and the Volkswagen Wolfsburg Crest Club Award, which we've earned multiple years.
Across our three Chevrolet stores, Ourisman is Maryland's largest Chevrolet dealer, a fitting milestone for a group that started with a single Chevy dealership. We're also number one in Maryland for both Mazda and Volkswagen sales, and number one in Delaware for Subaru sales. We're proud of these results, but we're not done yet. Our goal is to lead the market with every brand we represent, and we'll keep working to earn that spot one customer at a time.
Through Ourisman Cares, we support many charities and community organizations throughout the areas we serve. Some of our partners include MedStar Health, Heroes, Inc., Harford Family House, Special Olympics Maryland, Girls on the Run, the Boys & Girls Club, and the Bell Ringer, which benefits the Georgetown University Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. We also donate school supplies and pay off school lunch debt at local schools, so students have what they need to learn and no child has to worry about their next meal. And we're proud to support the local fire departments and first responders who keep our communities safe.
At Ourisman Field in Harford County, Maryland, we host days of play for local youth. Kids get a safe, fun place to be active, and we provide everything they need to participate.
